TorchLight Is Deeply Saddened by the Recent Death by Suicide

at

The University of Guelph

It is with deep sadness that TorchLight reaches out to the many students who are dedicated to their Volunteer roles on our distress lines – providing solace and comfort to our most vulnerable people living in our community and surrounding areas – and to all other students and staff at the University of Guelph who are mourning today!

Student life is challenging and demanding.  Being away from family, home and supportive loved ones can add to the stress of studies and the reality of adjusting to a new lifestyle.

The very essence of TorchLight, in our commitment to our community for over 50 years, is to provide compassionate, active listening and solution-based conversation for people who are experiencing difficult times. We are here for you – day and night – with the help of skilled Volunteers and Staff – ready to offer you a safe and confidential place to share your concerns.

It is our wish that no other life will be lost to suicide.  Your lives are precious. You are the future.  We are here for you!
